A general surgical nurse is a registered nurse (RN) working in medical wards normally in an acute hospital environment.
You will support in assessing patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload, assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient’s needs. You will actively promote best practice and contribute towards quality improvements, collect collate and organise data, interpret all of the information and make a justifiable assessment, making this available to relevant others.

Who we are looking for:
You will be a Registered Nurse and be used to working in teams with minimum supervision. Competence across a range of skills, supported by professional and clinical knowledge acquired through NMC registration and additional training is also desirable.
Provide professional nursing skills in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care for assigned patients while providing exceptional patient care in an environment where quality, respect, caring and compassion are at the centre of all we do.
Observe and record signs, symptoms, and behaviours, including the physiological status of patients
Maintain accurate nursing records
Perform techniques and routines in the specialty service area.
Evaluate care given including the patient response.

A surgical nurse must be a registered nurse with the UK NMC. Educational requirements may depend on the healthcare facility, its size, and location. Entry-level requirements for general medical nursing include nursing experience and a nursing qualification recognised by the UK NMC.

Nurses must meet the below:
Nurses must be registered with the NMC
At least 6 months post qualification clinical experience in general medicine
Have right to work in the UK
